Description

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Course Dates are July 10 - September 11, 2019, 5:45 - 8:45 PM

Eligibility: this course is open to ages 16+

This 10-week course is the second course in the series of American Sign Language classes to further the student's abilities in refining the skills learned/retained in ASL 101. The student learns to handle Talking about Family, Talking about Activities and Storytelling. Grammar is introduced in context with an emphasis on using question and answer skills, directions, and descriptions. Cultural notes and videos provide information on Deaf Culture and Deaf Community.

Pre-requisite: Successful completion of ASL101 or recommendation by way of a placement test.

A “no-voice” teaching method is used to reinforce the learning experience. You'll learn through classroom instruction and role-play, as well as videotext and a workbook. The videotext and workbook supplement and reinforce the classroom instruction so you can review, practice and retain what you learn.

Our qualified Deaf instructors use Signing Naturally, a sign language curriculum that teaches both ASL and Deaf culture to help you better understand the communication needs of the Deaf community.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: we reserve the right to reduce the number of course hours to accommodate smaller registration numbers. We do this so that the course can continue for the benefit of our students’ progress. If there is a change, we will notify you.
