Ask Doctor G: Encouraging Resilience
Thu, May 4, 2017, 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM EDT
A benefit for Kentucky Avenue School, the evening includes a welcome reception, a talk by Dr. Deborah Gilboa, and a Q&A session afterward.
Dr. G will speak on "Encouraging Resilience: How to Guide Your Child Through the Ups & Downs on the Journey to Success." As caring adults, educators and parents, we all have great intentions. But then life happens–and the real consequences of allowing our children to be resilient often overwhelm us. In this session, we will address the situations in which we should rescue our kids and we'll tackle head on the struggles of letting kids be uncomfortable, when they're not in danger of anything except learning and growing. Instead of hovering over, we can guide our children through the ups and downs on the journey to success and encourage them to overcome any obstacles they may face along the road.
