Description

Please join us at the upcoming ASIST training in Wichita, Kansas June 29th & 30th from 8:30am-5pm each day at the Lanny J. Wallace Army Reserve, 3130 George Washington Blvd, Wichita, Kansas. Registration is $100 for the two-day training and includes training materials, snacks and lunch. This training is sponsored by the Sedgwick County Suicide Prevention Coalition.

ASIST is a two-day (16 hour) workshop that teaches how to intervene and save a life from suicide. Over a million people around the world have participated in this award-winning program. Most people thinking about suicide don’t actually want to die, but they need help deciding to stay alive. You don’t need any prior training to attend ASIST—just a willingness to make a difference. Developed in 1983 and regularly updated to reflect improvements in knowledge and practice, ASIST is the world’s leading suicide intervention workshop. During the two-day interactive session, participants learn to intervene and help prevent the immediate risk of suicide. Over 1,000,000 people have taken the workshop, and studies have proven that the ASIST method helps reduce suicidal feelings for those at risk.
