Nabeel’s first day in America was also the first day he joined high school, started learning English and got a job in the restaurant industry as a busboy. Today he is the Chief marketing officer at a New York City-based organic burger joint, Bareburger, 47 locations in 5 countries. Bareburger’s motto is to sell the most delicious burger, from the most sustainable partners, in a restaurant that will make you feel good. Being a super small company, Nabeel has to focus on technology that is innovative, affordable and most importantly measurable. He relies heavily on AI and automation.
2. Zoey Gong
Founder of Table 81
Zoey is a TCM Practitioner, Nutritionist, Chef. With her background in clinical nutrition, professional kitchen, and TCM, Zoey specializes in mostly plant-based Chinese medicinal cuisine and holistic treatments, including Meridian Yoga, Moxibustion, and Accupressure. Born in Shanghai, China, Zoey started her journey as a healer by healing herself, who once had two breast tumors, constant skin rashes, amenorrhea, and joint pain. In New York City, she is the founder of Table 81 NYC, a dining experience that offers plant-based medicinal dinners. She has done partnership with Two Hands NYC, Good Thanks Café, Great Sanxiang Camelia Oil, Subculture Dining by Russell Jackson, Museum of Chinese in American, Sage Collective, and so on.
3. Richard Tam
Co-founder / Owner of Minus 10 Ice Cream
Richard is the co-founder of Minus 10 Ice Cream, a Thai inspired rolled ice cream shop in New York City's Chinatown.
4. Yong Zhao
Co-Founder and CEO of Junzi Kitchen.
Yong was born and raised in Liaoning, northeast of China. He received a Bachelor degree from Yuanpei School at Peking University, and then received a MESc and attended the doctoral program in environmental science at Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies.
In 2013, with two good friends, Yong co-founded Junzi kitchen and has been leading the team as CEO ever since. Being the mastermind and visionary of Junzi kitchen, Yong Zhao is harnessing the tide of quick-service Chinese food with his quickly expanding restaurant concept and leading the omni-channel shift in eating with innovative solutions such as ghost kitchen. With locations in New Haven and Manhattan, the team most recently opened their fourth store near Bryant Park, New York, and the first delivery-only location at SoHo.
