About this event
Anti-Asian hate and racism has been on the rise. And unfortunately, some individuals have bought into the false narratives written by the White dominant culture that was purposely put in place to pit Asian and Black communities against each other.
This pitting of Asian and Black communities against each other is nothing new. Yet, our oppressions and our liberations are tied. How can the Asian and Black communities continue to be in solidarity with each other towards racial justice and healing? What actions can we take towards racial justice and healing? Join us for this training and conversation on:
- Understanding how similar the experiences of Asian and Black communities are and why it's critical to be in solidarity with one another
- Recognizing how Black and Asian communities have organized together for justice and in movements
- Strategizing actions and next steps that you can take towards racial justice and healing
*The Black-Asian Unity logo featured in the picture was designed by Mrs. Tarika Lewis (the first female Black Panther) and Tommy Wong (Oakland Chinatown organizer) initially for a BLM event that one of the Co-Founders of Healing Equity United helped organize.
