Session Description:
Struggling with using energy simulation effectively in your projects? Want to contribute to the development of an industry standard meant to provide a solution? You should attend this session.
ASHRAE Standard 209 “Energy Simulation‐Aided Design for Buildings” was created to define reliable and consistent procedures that advance the use of timely energy modeling to quantify the impact of design decisions at the point in time at which they are being made. It defines minimum requirements for providing energy design assistance using building energy simulation and analysis.
Designed to be adopted by building owners and architects seeking a uniform way to specify a scope of work for building energy modeling, as well as other interested organizations, it was first published in 2018. Currently the ASHRAE 209 committee is reviewing the standard and proposing updates.
In this session, you’ll hear from members of the ASHRAE 209 Committee. They’ll present an overview of the standard as it exists and highlight some of the changes under discussion. It’s also a chance for you to provide feedback. The committee wants to hear your ideas and suggestions. So please join us.

Our panel will be led by three key members of the ASHRAE 209 Committee.
