Description

The Eve of the Ascension of Our Lord

This Eucharist for the Feast falling forty days after Easter is sung by C4: The Choral Composer/Conductor Collective (www.c4ensemble.org). It features a mass setting for unaccompanied choir, Missa Constantiae by Bruce Saylor (brucesaylorcomposer.com), paired with a free-standing Gloria by Brian Mountford, as well as other choral and organ repertoire for the Feast.

The Eucharist, to which those of all faiths and of none are welcome, is followed by a Drinks Reception in the beautiful St Benedict's Courtyard, a hidden oasis in the heart of Greenwich Village. At this outdoor event monies raised this year for Una Voz Un Mundo will be presented to the charity's Director, tenor Mario Arevalo. These funds are designated for the provision of musical instruments in a music school for poorer children in El Salvador. Mr. Arevalo is currently an Ambassador of Goodwill for The Fine Arts and Culture for The Association of El Salvador (United Nations).

The event is free but registration is recommended so that the Reception can be appropriately catered.

The Reception is followed by a concert of music for voice and guitar, given by Amber Evans (soprano) and Neil Beckmann (guitar).
