Joe Polder – Territory Manager

Joe Polder joined Simpson Strong-Tie in February 1993. He has worked in inside sales, national accounts, as a lumber dealer representative and an Anchor Systems representative. Joe currently is the Territory Manager for Orange County. Joe is a member of several ICC Chapters and Building Industry Associations. Besides being devilishly handsome, Joe works with specifiers, architects, contractors and builders through his territory. Joe also regularly presents at workshops and training seminars throughout the Southwest region. Joe received his B.A. degree from Cal State Fullerton in 1991.

Ayman Abdelaal, P.h.D., P.E. – Branch Engineer

Ayman Abdelaal, P.h.D., P.E. is a Branch Engineer for the Southwest region of the US with over 10 years of experience in project management and technical design of commercial, podium type and mixed use buildings, as well as approximately 9 years of experience in teaching for undergraduate students and more than 2 years as the Properties and Testing of Materials lab manager at Military Technical Collage, Cairo, Egypt. During his time in Egypt, He also worked as a construction project manager for one of the big construction projects for the Egyptian Army. He also worked on the design of several multi-story concrete buildings one of them 12-story building at downtown Cairo, Egypt, when he was working as a part-time structural engineer at one of the engineering firms in Egypt.

In 2011, Mr. Abdelaal moved to the US seeking his passion in learning and to start his doctoral degree in structural engineering at University of California, Irvine, CA. During his study, he gained a lot of experience working as research assistant for the concrete lab at Henry Samueli School of Engineering, UC Irvine, helping other graduate students on their testes and working on his own experimental program. During his time in design, he had broad-based responsibilities including but not limited to, engineering design and detailing, structural drawing, permitting and city approvals, value engineering (VE) meetings, and aiding in construction processes in both the consulting and design-build environments. He also has a wide experience in retaining walls design and shoring design using piles system in LA, Pasadena and San Diego areas. Prior to joining Simpson Strong-Tie, Mr. Abdelaal worked as a forensic engineer investigating damaged structures with the task of determining the cause of damage, as well as in potential construction defect. He joined Simpson Strong-Tie in September, 2019.

Rishav Poudyal, M.S., P.E. – Field EngineerRishav Poudyal, M.S., P.E. is the Anchor Systems Field Engineer for the Southern California region and Hawaii. He has been working with the specifiers/structural engineers, building officials, and contractors to disseminate knowledge about Simpson Strong-Tie anchor products, code reports, and the anchor designer software. Before joining Simpson Strong-Tie, he worked as a design engineer at a consulting firm in Utah for around four years. He has more than five years of strong background in structural design and detailing, seismic retrofit and rehabilitation, and construction administration on more than 50 projects and a total budget of $500 million thus far.

Vince Yang, P.E. – Field EngineerVince Yang, P.E. is a Field Engineer for the Southwest region of the US and specializes in structural steel. He has been with Simpson for one year and has been educating engineers, architects, building officials, and contractors on design and product solutions for Simpson’s new structural steel product lines. Prior to joining Simpson, he worked as a structural engineering consultant for retail, commercial, and multifamily projects. He also worked for the International Code Council and was involved in writing ESR code reports and Acceptance Criteria for various products. He is a registered Professional Engineer in California and earned his B.S. from UC San Diego and his M.S. from CSU Long Beach.
