TOPIC - ASCE 38 for Metropolitan Water District of Southern California:

 

The ASCE Orange County Branch and Utility Engineering and Surveying Institute (UESI) invite you to attend the March Luncheon where Adán Ortega, Jr, Founder of Ortega Strategies Group and Executive Director of the California Association of Mutual Water Companies will discuss ASCE 38 as it applies to the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California.

 

 
About The Speaker: 

Adán Ortega, Jr. is founder of OSG, Ortega Strategies Group, a public policy advocacy firm based in Fullerton, California. The firm advocates as registered lobbyists, news media strategists, and as association managers. OSG also assists advocacy association clients with executive staff recruitment as well as leadership and team development.

 

Adán serves as the contract-Executive Director of the California Association of Mutual Water Companies with over 300 small community water system members in California, which OSG led efforts to organize. Adán has thirty years of experience in the water industry, and his career includes working with LA DWP, MWD, and a multitude of California water agencies. Adán is considered the creator of the California Friendly Program, bewatewise.com, Keep L.A. Beautiful, WIN (Water Independence Now) and other popular water conservation and environmental programs.

 

In 2019, the City of Fullerton appointed Adán as its representative on the Board of Directors of the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California. Adán was appointed by Governor Jerry Brown in 2013, to the California Water Commission, and by former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to the California State Board of Food & Agriculture in 2005, where he chaired its water committee until 2012. Adán is active on the boards of Sustainable Conservation, the Southern California Water Coalition, and Mujeres de La Tierra. He is a former member of the board of directors of the National Audubon Society, the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation and Whittier College.
