Description:
The 25 year old Georgia Dome was an integral part of Downtown Atlanta encompassing a large footprint adjacent to extremely sensitive major facilities. Surrounded by the GWCC, GWCC Gold and Red Decks, Mercedes-Benz Stadium, MARTA's West Line, and Northside Drive Parkway required a clear and concise demolition plan involving multiple stakeholders. The implosion and demolition of the Georgia Dome was even further complicated by the elevated compression ring supporting the roof structure. HHRM was responsible for the oversight of the project team to ensure a successful implosion.

Biographies:
Brad Hutto is the Senior Project Manager for HHRM managing the Dome Demolition project. He has been working on the GWCCA campus for over 4 years during the successful completion of the Mercedes-Benz Stadium and the GWCCA Silver Deck. His previous projects include over 1.2M sf of renovations for State Farm and work on Emory and Clemson University campuses.

Adam Straight is the Senior Director of Campus Operations at the GWCCA and is responsible for leading the day to day operations of the Authority campus in its entirety (221 acres including the GWCC, MBS and Centennial Olympic Park). In his previous role (Senior Director of Project and Program Management), he served as the day-to-day liaison between the GWCCA, HHRM, and the Atlanta Falcons, as the Owners Representative for the project.

Larry Prescott, P. E., is the Director of Structures for the HNTB Atlanta office and Senior Engineering Technical Advisor for MARTA. He has over 32 years of design and construction experience in Transportation, Infrastructure and Transit.
