We are a small student run Japanese animation convention and we want to bring anime, Japanese culture, and the convention experience to the fans of Antioch, California. We are a very small convention (with about 200 attendees each year) and want to serve as a starter convention for people who may not have gone to conventions before. All our staff is apart of the ASAHi Club at Antioch High school, trained by graduates in everything they need to know in order to run and plan a con.
Ticket sales are a donation to ASAHi club activities, so we will not be issuing refunds under any circumstances.
What is ASAHi?
ASAHi is the abbreviation for the Anime Society of Antioch High and also means sunrise in Japanese. We are the anime club at Antioch High School. We take part in school events and also host smaller events throughout the school year.
How much does your event cost?
Tickets at the door cost $5 with a valid, current Student ID (college included). With no School ID, at the door tickets will be $7.
Why is your event more expensive through Eventbrite?
Because we are a very small, non-profit event, service fees will be bundled with the total cost in order for the club to continue to function and host events. The base cost is all a donation to the club, used to buy food and fund field trips as well as purchasing the necessary materials to host events. However if you are not a current student and do not hold a valid student ID, pre-registration is cheaper than at the door!
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
It would be preferred to have a printed ticket so the registration staff can get you through the line and to the con swiftly and efficiently. Digital tickets are not 100% effective, since errors and misunderstandings do happen sometimes, so if possible the Registration Staff encourage you to bring a printed ticket.
What is the refund policy?
Becasue this is a small event and all profit is a donation to the Anime Society of Antioch High, we will not be issuing refunds under any circumstances.
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
A current Student ID will get you a discount at Walk Up Registration, but for those who pre-register there is already a discount. As for age restrictions, there are none! People of any age are welcome at our family-freindly convention.
What can/can't I bring to the event?
Becase we wish to keep ASAHiCon a family-friendly event, we ask that weapons and alcoholic beverages be left at home. Keep in mind the event is on a school campus, so if you wouldnt have it around children, please dont bring it! If these things are found we will refuse to give you access to the con and have security escort you off campus.
Where can I contact the organizers with any questions?
There is a seperate FAQ and contact page on our website at http://asahicon.org/, so please direct any other questions there!
