This year's ART&SOUL gala features the theme "Home Is Where The Art Is", and it will welcome home a host of alumni, who'll entertain you with outstanding performances all night long. As usual, The NOCCA Institute's ART&SOUL gala will also feature great food from local restaurants and one of the city's best auctions.
ART&SOUL will be held on a Saturday -- May 21, to be exact -- and we're adding a late-night party for night owls, younger alumni, and friends of NOCCA. The event is co-chaired by Celeste Marshall and Calvin Johnson Jr., and the schedule is as follows:
PATRON PARTY: 6:30pm - 8:00pm
The Patron Party features performances by Calvin Johnson Jr., Roxie le Rouge, and NOCCA Jazz students; a special Patron Party buffet; and open bars throughout the Chevron Forum. Patrons also get a first look at dozens of silent auction items up for bid, including artwork, vacation packages, gift certificates to local restaurants, and much, much more. Patrons are welcome to stay for the ART&SOUL Gala and the Twilight party, too -- including the live auction, which features a week-long stay in Tuscany, a whirlwind trip to New York, and a beautiful bracelet with white sapphires and black spinel from Ramsey's Diamond Jewelers.
ART&SOUL GALA: 8:00pm - midnight
Tickets: $100 (+ 5% Louisiana sales tax and online ticketing fee)
The ART&SOUL Gala features performances by NOCCA students and by Sweet Crude (including NOCCA alum and The Voice contestant Alexis Marceaux). Guests will enjoy food from their favorite local restaurants, plus access to open bars and the silent and live auction.
Featured gala restaurants include Bacchanal Wine, Brigtsen's, Cochon, Domenica, Emeril's New Orleans, Feelings Cafe, Frankie & Johnny's, Kingfish, Mariza, Meauxbar, Patois, Press Street Station, Restaurant des Familles, Root, and Sylvain.
TWILIGHT PARTY: 9:00pm - midnight
Tickets: $75 (+ 5% Louisiana sales tax and online ticketing fee)
Revelers will enjoy a rockin' performance by Sweet Crude and Big Sam's Funky Nation, plus special late-night eats. Featured restaurants include Bao & Noodle, The Company Burger, Congregation Coffee, Continental Provisions, Dryades Public Market, Juan's Flying Burrito, Lakeview Harbor, Mimi's In The Marigny, namese, Swiss Confectionery, and Taceaux Loceaux.
Funds from ART&SOUL support financial aid programs, artist residencies, and other initiatives that benefit NOCCA students, faculty, and the community.
