Event description

Description

Greetings, and thank you for all you do to make St Louis a dynamic destination for the arts.

Last month, we launched EVOKE www.evoke.racstl.org - the first comprehensive cultural planning initiative for our region. Our planning goal is to uncover opportunities for arts and culture to make St. Louis a more equitable, thriving and vibrant place to live. We seek to hear from everyone – especially our arts and cultural organizations – who provide inspiration and innovation every day to the people of this region and make great art happen.

Today, we invite you to join us in making this bold undertaking a success.

Over the next few months, we will host a series of gatherings - focus group sessions, town hall meetings and forums - designed to enable artists, arts and culture organizations and the general community to come together, share ideas and make their voices heard. As an arts and culture organization, you will have multiple opportunities to attend gatherings in a variety of groupings that promote more robust and meaningful dialogue.

Those groupings include: Small and Mid-Sized Theatre and Performance Arts Groups; Arts Centers; Presenters; Arts and Cultural Heritage; Festivals; Arts and Health; Small Museums; Arts and Social Service Groups; African-American Cultural Groups; Music Producing Organizations; Galleries; and Dance Companies.

Here is how you can help:

We invite you to participate in a focus group session specifically for African-American Cultural Groups.

WHEN: Thursday, August 24 from 1pm - 3pm

WHERE: The Griot Museum of Black History, St. Louis

WHO Should Attend: Organizations who’s primary mission is the practice, promotion, or preservation of a specific race, ethnicity, nationality, or other affinity’s artistic or cultural heritage.

DEADLINE to Register: August 21, 2017

REGISTER for this focus group session through Eventbrite.

Given the unique focus of your organization, you may be interested in and/or invited to participate in upcoming sessions intended for individual artists or those working in other arts-related areas. For more information, contact Jess Gouldthorpe at 314-863-5811, ext. 1005.

Thank you, again, for everything you do to support the arts community in St. Louis and for being a part of EVOKE!
