Artlet: The Mindful Mix Series
Sun, March 26, 2017, 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM EDT
What happens when you quiet your busy mind and take time to play? We’d tell you, but...We rather you be the judge ;).
This March, each week, from 2-4PM on Sundays, come find out. We’re challenging you to try something new. It's an innovative wellness regime, and it's all about creativity and play.
4 weeks straight, 2 hours each week, we’ll mix mindful movement (yoga and meditation), with creative expression (painting, drawing, and colouring). Experience creative bliss, adventure, and the best (hangover-free) weekend release there is. You game?
Known for art, sweat and connection, the full series will be hosted at Lululemon Athletica Queen West, in their two spaces, The Attic and The Hustle. Check out the space at www.318queen.com.
At 2PM we’ll kick-off with mindful exercise in The Attic, led by a local instructor, then move downstairs to get our artistic expression on in The Hustle.
Come out with bae, your bestie, or the squad. Even come solo. We dare you to take the risk.
Mind the mix, and join the fun:
March 5, 2017 – meditation + colouring
This mix will have you experiencing a guided meditation upstairs in the Attic. After, you move down to the Hustle to colour a beautiful mandala. Meditation + mandalas = creative bliss
March 12, 2017 – yoga + painting
This mix will have you flowing through a yoga practice upstairs in the Attic. After, you move down to the Hustle to create your own painting inspired by the moment.
March 19, 2017 – meditation + sketching
This mix will have you experiencing a guided meditation upstairs in the Attic. After, you move down to the Hustle to get your doodle and sketch on. Daydreaming, the Artlet way!
March 26, 2017 – yoga + painting
This mix will have you flowing through a yoga practice upstairs in the Attic. After, you move down to the Hustle to create your own painting inspired by the moment. We have soft spot for this particular mix!
THANKS TO OUR OFFICIAL ART SUPPLY SPONSOR: ABOVE GROUND ART SUPPLIES
Above Ground has long been the go-to for many artists and students in need of creative supplies since the first location opened in 1983, just down the street from OCADU. Since then, Above Ground has opened in the Beach and Junction neighbourhoods, making sure artists in the west end and the east end have access to the staggering selection of materials the stores offer. The Junction location, which opened in 2012, may not have the size of the massive, well-known McCaul St. store, but every inch is filled with art supplies for every skill level and budget.
