Artistic Directors of the Future, in partnership with Musical Theatre Network presents a session on 'Wearing Multiple Hats in theatre' at The Edge Theatre and Arts Centre in Manchester on Thursday 13 October, 2016, 4 - 7.30pm.
Join us in Manchester for a networking opportunity with others interested in developing or staging theatre in the area, plus a discussion on the dynamics of taking on multiple production/creative roles in order to get a show staged or on the road.
Increasingly we are seeing directors or actors who initially had a solely creative focus, often find themselves drawn into the business side of producing a show so that the work they most want to see happening can find an audience. And today’s artistic directors often talk of the way the role has evolved to require them to juggle more business management, fundraising and strategic planning with directing and programming than has previously been the case. This event will be an opportunity to share experiences, insights and best practice.
Guest speakers include: Janine Waters (Artistic Director, Edge Theatre), Suba Das (Associate Director, Curve Theatre), Keith Saha (Playwright & Co-Artistic Director, 20 Stories High), Matthew Bugg (Writer & Producer) and Darren Pritchard (Performer, Choreographer, Director & Producer).
