Commuter Biennial is a Knight funded public art exhibition taking place throughout Miami-Dade County from July through October 2019. This exhibition aims to highlight commuter experiences of the Miami metro area by activating unconventional and underutilized locations, bringing attention to marginal, yet recognizable places in the suburban landscape. In activating these areas, the biennial seeks to redefine the places we consider home, underscoring the character and quality of neighborhoods. The Biennial seeks to democratize access to art through a series of artistic commissions across a wide range of styles and mediums that intersect high and low concepts and modalities.

Commuter Biennial is made possible with the generous support of the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation through a Knight Arts Challenge grant, with the support of the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs and Cultural Affairs Council, and the Miami-Dade County Mayor and Board of County Commissioners. Commuter Biennial is sponsored in part by the State of Florida, Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs and the Florida Council on Arts and Culture. The exhibition is organized by the Gables Hispanic Cultural Foundation with the support of the Miami Foundation.

Schnebly Redland’s Winery is the first true winery in South Florida, crafting wine experiences from tropical fruit grown on location. Miami Brewing Company kicked off the craft beer boom in South Florida as Miami’s first commercial craft brewery, creating such highlights as Shark Bait: Mango Wheat Ale, Big Rod: Coconut blonde and Vice IPA. Schnebly Redland’s Winery is located at 30205 SW 217th Avenue, Homestead, FL 33030. For more information, call 305-242-1442 or visit www.schneblywinery.com.
