Artist Talk with Farima Fooladi
Event Information
Description
Join us for a talk by Iranian painter Farima Fooladi. Born in Tehran, Fooladi is currently living and working at State College, PA. Her Displacement series delves into the various emotional and historical layers of public space and memory. In her work, she comments on the way social and political changes transform civic spaces, creating new maps instead of following existing ones. She addresses recent social and political changes in the country and its effect on culture. Inspired by mythical stories such as the Tower of Babel, Fooladi borrows from their symbolism to address current dilemmas.
