Event description

Description

Speaker: Kalimah Abioto
Location: Open Signal
Ages: All ages
Times: 7-8:30pm
Dates: March 22

Night Lights Artist-in-Residence Kalimah Abioto spent four months working on a new film for the March 2017 edition of Night Lights, a monthly digital media event co-produced by Open Signal and the Regional Arts & Culture Council (RACC). At every First Thursday art event, a different new media artist projects their work on RACC’s downtown offices.

During her residency, Kalimah used funding from RACC and equipment, training and space provided by Open Signal to produce her new work. At this artist talk, Kalimah will discuss her experience with her collaborators at Open Signal, as well as her artistic process. She’ll then show her finished video, and take questions from the audience about its inspiration and production.
