Event description

Description

Join naturalist and photographer Scott Logan at The G2 Gallery for an exploration into macrophotography and the world it reveals. Macrophotography is challenging on many levels, from finding subjects to using specific equipment. Scott will share his methods in the field and the stacking techniques he applies in the studio to create his wildlife portraits. Scott's images featured in The Gottlieb Native Garden: A Closer Look exhibit on view at The G2 Gallery demonstrate how powerful macrophotography can be in highlighting the beauty of overlooked wildlife, specifically in the renowned Beverly Hills garden. Scott’s true passion is to open the eyes and minds of Angelenos to the extraordinary and diverse fauna and flora that thrive in the city of over ten million. This presentation encourages exploration and celebration of the inhabits of this jungle we call Los Angeles!

This event is free and open to the public.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Raised in Los Angeles, Scott Logan has been a nature lover since childhood and knows our native wildlife intimately, with birds always being the focus of his attention. Scott is a co-owner of Wild Wings Ecology located in Sherman Oaks, California, and whether he’s educating communities in the ways of nature, reviewing someone’s yard or leading a bird walk, he is always ready to help connect enthusiasts to the wildlife that thrives in Southern California. Scott is a self-taught photographer with a background in graphic arts, which helped him develop a good eye for photography. Scott began photographing in Los Angeles to further educate others on the diverse wildlife found in the area, and this led to his passion for macrophotography.
