ARTIST TALK by Kim Spooner: BOOKMARKS
Overview
Kim Spooner, acclaimed artist and writer, will speak at 2pm on Saturday, 13 November at Nanda\Hobbs. Join us for an intimate artist talk and get to see behind-the-scenes as Kim shares her ideas, inspiration, and stories behind her debut exhibition, BOOKMARKS.
This playfully poignant body of drawings and paintings emerges from Spooner’s own manuscript—a reflection on her life, her generation, and the cultural shifts that have shaped both. In conversation, Spooner will discuss how memory, writing, and image intersect in her practice, and how BOOKMARKS became both an act of self-archiving and a meditation on resilience, identity, and time.
“A bookmark can be many things, but at its core, it provides us with a place to pause before turning the page.”
Come share in this special afternoon of conversation and insight with one of Australia’s most thoughtful emerging voices.
