Navy Pier Postpones Free Public Art Installation “The Let Go

Due to Coronavirus Concerns

WHAT: As the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVD-19) evolves globally and due to rising concerns related to the potential community spread of the COVID-19 at high-volume events, and out of an abundance of precaution, Navy Pier has postponed this April’s The Let Go. This free, temporary public art installation and dance-based town hall from internationally-acclaimed artist Nick Cave would have expected thousands of guests over its weeklong run. This determination was based on guidelines set by city and state officials, and the decision is in line with the measures recommended and taken by the City of Chicago’s Department of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Navy Pier looks forward to sharing The Let Go with Chicago at a forthcoming date. More information to follow.

Navy Pier is continuing its standard daily operations and has been taking appropriate measures—as recommended by the CDC and local agencies—to ensure the safety and well-being of its guests on a regular basis.

Navy Pier continues to invite and encourage guests to visit and experience its many Pier-wide offerings, from dining to retail and attractions. Please take the time to review CDC guidelines and use them as a practical guide for continuing to actively explore and enjoy the Pier and the city.

Navy Pier’s full statement regarding COVID-19 can be viewed here.
