Riverton Piano Company's Bösendorfer Salon Series offers recitals and musical events in an intimate setting that seats about sixty people. Reservations are highly suggested.

Dr. Michael Guida was raised in Arizona and began to play the piano from the age of 7. He studied at the University of Denver where he completed his Undergraduate and Master’s degrees in piano performance. There, he studied with pianist Steven Mayer. Michael then completed his Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Texas at Austin where he studied with pianist Anton Nel.

As a winner of numerous awards, Michael was presented from 2014-16 with the “Robert and Judi Newman Fellowship,” including a full tuition scholarship at the University of Denver during his Master’s degree. He recently received first prize in the International Great Composers Competition and received an award for the “Best Schubert Performance.” Michael was also awarded the Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long Piano Scholarship at the University of Texas at Austin including a full tuition scholarship and teacher’s assistantship.

Michael has concertized and enjoys performing throughout various regions of the United States. Well-versed in the subject of Edvard Grieg’s Lyric Pieces, Michael presents and performs them in lectures defining their folk elements and imagery. Since recently moving to Arizona, Michael has performed numerous times including concerts at the Scottsdale Automotive Museum, lecture concert at the Piano Gallery in Scottsdale, and is a selected artist to perform in the Bösendorfer Salon Series at Riverton Piano. Michael has recently attended summer festivals including the International Keyboard Institute and Festival, where he performed in masterclasses for pianists such as Victor Rosenbaum, Jerome Rose, Alon Goldstein, and Jose Ramos Santana.

During his time as teaching assistant at the University of Texas at Austin, Michael taught collegiate level group piano courses as well as private students where he studied with pedagogue Sophia Gilmson and MTNA President Martha Hilley. There, Michael became proficient in teaching a wide variety of students, from young beginners through advanced students at the collegiate level. Michael enjoys teaching regularly and maintains his own private studio in Paradise Valley, Arizona.
