Description

During this 2-hour class, we will go over the basics of cheesemaking including:

What is Cheese, Exactly?

  • All about Milk: Raw vs Pasteurized, Homogenized vs. Cream Top, Goat vs Cow, Organic vs Conventional
  • The Laws around Milk and Cheese
  • The Basic Ingredients and Science of Cheesemaking
  • Recommended Equipment and Supplies

Instructor Kate Johnson will teach students how to make two fairly easy cheeses, Chevre & Feta, through both demonstration and hands-on activities. Students will get to taste finished examples of these cheeses and will have an opportunity to make their own custom version of either Chevre or Feta to take home with them.

Recipes and instructions will also be provided.
