Event description

Description

Learn the sercrets of artisan bread baking on April 27, 2019. From 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Learning to bake artisan bread is an art. Many home cooks try learning on their own, but are not able to make breads that taste like the ones they buy from the bakery. Bread making is about technique, feel, and understanding the science—things that are difficult to learn from a recipe or book. Learning from an experienced baker in a hands-on class will give home cooks confidence to tackle any bread baking project.

Teacher, Lisa Erickson, has been teaching cooking and baking lessons for over 20 years. She previously owned Wildchow Catering. Lisa was also the cooking segment chef for Minnesota Bound on KARE11. In addition to her career the food health industry, she is a food columnist and the author of an up coming cookbook that will be released later this year. Her education is in journalism and food science.

In this class, you will learn the secrets of artisan french baguettes, traditional yeast bread, scones, and sweet & savory pastries. This class is perfect for beginners or for those who'd like to add to their baking skill set. The lesson is hosted in a home kitchen environment, which means you’ll be able to go home and recreate the same breads and pastries you made in class.

A special French style lunch is included. You will also recieve a poolish starter and a special gift to take home. This is a hands on, learning intensive class for only a small number of people. Space is limited—sign up early! For questions, email Lisa at erick.lisa@gmail.com.
