The Hopewell Valley Arts Council invites you to explore and deepen your passion for art at our second ArtConnect Forum - A Community Forum for Art Enthusiasts, Artists and Creative Minds.

This new community event is the place to explore your passion and appreciation for art in a fun, collaborative and social setting. Each meeting will feature fascinating speakers...with big imaginations...sharing their work, inspiration, and their creative process, while providing an opportunity to interact with fellow artists and art lovers.


Thursday, March 21, 2019 - Guest Speakers:

Lynn DeClemente Losavio - Collection Manager, The Seward Johnson Atelier

DeClemente Losavio will share highlights of “That’s Worth Celebrating: The Life and Work of the Johnson Family” currently on exhibit at the Grounds For Sculpture which focuses on the family's passions, their belief in the spirit of innovation and the power of community, as well as, Seward Johnson's influence on the art world. Lynn will also discuss the education and sculpting servics the Johnson Atelier offers to local artists and skilled crafts persons - including modeling, enlarging, casting, fabrication, paint and patina, production and conservation services – all with an emphasis on promoting public art. Lynn is a resident of Hopewell NJ.


Gyuri Hollósy - Sculptor & Painter

Hollósy will talk about his latest inspiration – “animal architects” – and how he employs a unique formula of resin and sawdust form the shape and patterns of rotted wood and bark in his creations.

Gyuri will also share his unique experiences consulting with the local government of Xinjiang Province in China on the creation of a new sculpture park and his most recent ‘silk road’ commission for the China National Academy of Painting in Beijing. Gyuri is the author of “Voices in An Artist’s Head” which was released in 2017. Hollósy is a resident of Titusville, NJ.

ArtConnect Forum is the centerpiece of a new HV Arts Council program called ArtConnect - Creating Opportunities for Artists. The program is focused on nurturing an environment for collaboration, feedback, learning and idea sharing; creating opportunities to showcase artists and their work; and coordinating resources and services useful to both established and emerging artists - including the visual, musical, culinary, literary, performing arts - just to name a few.
