Event description

Description

David Brooks: Continuous Service Altered Daily makes visible every part–electrical wiring, nuts, bolts, rubber hoses, tires–of a 1976 John Deere 3300 series combine harvester throughout Bemis Center’s first-floor galleries. The countless pieces, some faded and weather-worn or aspiring to high-art status with powder-coated or brass plated finishes, are carefully organized into nine ecosystem zones that perpetually exist in our biosphere, asking viewers to reexamine their perceptions of products or “services” harvested from the natural world.
