Leonardo da Vinci: A Life in Drawing
Millennium Gallery, Arundel Gate, Sheffield, S1 2PP

Leonardo da Vinci was arguably the greatest artist that ever lived. This spring, 12 of his most extraordinary drawings will go on display in Sheffield as part of a major nationwide exhibition marking the 500th anniversary of his death. With much of his life’s work unrealised or destroyed, many of Leonardo’s greatest achievements are represented through his drawings. An unprecedented national event, Leonardo da Vinci: A Life in Drawing will see works from the Royal Collection illustrate the great Renaissance master’s unparalleled gift as an artist, draftsman and scientist. The Vehicle of Nature by Universal Everything
Millennium Gallery, Arundel Gate, Sheffield, S1 2PP

The genius of Leonardo da Vinci provides the inspiration for an immersive experience from internationally-acclaimed digital studio, Universal Everything. This new installation is a 21st century response to the artist’s ground-breaking Studies of flowing water (1510-13), on display in Leonardo da Vinci: A Life in Drawing (see below). The Vehicle of Nature brings together the latest display technologies to create a digital river, which swirls and eddies across the gallery space.

Re-collections: Susan Hiller, Elizabeth Price, Georgina Starr
Site Gallery, Brown Street, Sheffield, S1 2BS

Re-collections explores how histories are remembered, recorded and retold. Moving between personal narratives, institutional records and oral histories, it touches on the myriad ways in which we collect and present our experiences.

As We Were: A solo exhibition by Joy Labinjo
Bloc Projects, Eyre Lane, Sheffield

For her exhibition at Bloc Projects, Joy Labinjo will be developing an entirely new body of work that will push her practice as a painter into new territories. Labinjo’s new body of work continues to pursue recurring themes including identity, the complexity of familial relationships and what it means to immortalise characters through the application of paint. However, this experimental commission will present previously unexplored production methods and conceptual thematics. The exhibition will provide a starting point to consider current and very pressing conversations around identity, peoples perception of others and how do our collective experiences bring us together or push us apart.
