Pennyroyal Station
Pennyroyal Station LLC, a restaurant and bar, will establish itself as Mount Rainier’s premier neighborhood gathering place with the backing of experienced and creative DC restaurant veterans. Located in heart of Mount Rainier, Maryland at 3308 and 3310 Rhode Island Avenue, the restaurant is perfectly situated in the town circle across from City Hall, and the former location of the Mount Rainier suburban streetcar.

The restaurant’s name draws its inspiration from the site’s history. Pennyroyal, a flowering herb native to Washington State and also found in the valley of Mount Rainier, is a nod to the Seattle surveyors who founded the City of Mount Rainier. Station evokes the nostalgic pride of a time when Mount Rainier was the last stop, and the only suburban streetcar stop, outside the district’s streetcar line. Pennyroyal Station provides a vintage-inspired ambiance pulling details from the 1940’s era while incorporating modern touches, mirroring the architecture of the neighborhood and the vitality of the community. With a total of 2,620 square feet of space for indoor and outdoor dining, this location can host those grabbing a quick bite on their lunch break, families out for dinner, or couples enjoying an evening out. Additionally, the bar can act as a neighborhood gathering place in the heart of this revitalized community center. A second dining room allows for overflow on busy nights or for private parties, serving the needs of the local business community.
