Event description
Come hear this epic tale and celebrate the opening of The Distance of the Moon with a first look tour.

About this Event

The Moon Museum may sound like science fiction, but it’s true: Six artists and their unidentified collaborator snuck a minuscule artwork on the moon! Featuring imagery by Andy Warhol, Claes Oldenburg and Robert Rauschenberg, The Moon Museum is a tiny wafer made in a small edition, stowed away on the Apollo 12 moon lander. Come hear the epic tale led by Bob Rauschenberg Gallery Director Jade Dellinger, and celebrate the opening of The Distance of the Moon with a first look tour.

50 years to the day since this historic November 14, 1969 launch, come celebrate the Apollo XII's Secret Art Mission at the Akron Art Museum!

Free and open to the public. Registration required for tour following the Moon Museum presentation.
