A workshop with Ian Adams exploring art, spirituality, meditation and reflection. An afternoon retreat to find peace and calm and to uncover the divine creativity inherent in us all. Ian suggests that if our brilliant but demanding world is to rediscover its harmony and peace, that rediscovery can and must begin within each one of us - reconciling our own light and darkness, rediscovering our sense of peace and belonging, and diving deeper into faith, hope and love.
Ikons are perhaps the purest example of the potential meeting point of art and spirituality in the Christian tradition, created (technically 'written') in a context of ongoing prayer. Stepping humbly into that prayerful tradition, and working with a simple set of materials, the workshop will include space to create some art together on the theme You are the Light. This is open to all whatever your art experience. Our working together will be a gift and so perhaps some small ikons to the wonder of the divine may emerge.
This will be a relaxing prelude to Ian's talk in the evening and the workshop will conclude with a light supper.
