Event description

Description

“What does one gift to the only woman whose heart has left the solar system?”

This seemingly simple question launched artist Dario Robleto on a journey to understand the meaning and significance of the human heartbeat. Inspired by a childhood encounter with the recorded heartbeat of Ann Druyan on the famed Golden Record that accompanied Voyager II beyond the solar system, Robleto's artistic practice brought him into dialogue with scientists and researchers working on the cutting edge of astrophysics and neuroscience.

In this public conversation, Dario Robleto and Art Papers editor + artistic director Sarah Higgins will address questions about what art can bring to the most speculative spaces of science and technology.

This AP LIVE serves as a segue from our year-long engagement with Art and the Built Environment into an exploration of Art and Human Rights, as Robleto's work shares concerns inherent to both spaces of inquiry. This event is presented in partnership with The Ernest G. Welch School of Art & Design.

This event is free and open to the public, but registration is required. You can learn more about Dario and his work on his website.
