Event description

Description

EL BARRIO TOURS, Andrew Padilla’s 28-minute documentary short, focuses on the changing demographics in an area once considered immune to gentrification due to the high number of public housing projects. The film, which won Best Documentary Short at the 2012 Puerto Rican International Film Festival and the 2013 Peoples’ Film Festival, documents some of the area’s most dramatic changes over the past decade.

This screening will feature a clip from the documentary along with short films from the nationwide project on Displacement in America. The screening is part of the Art of Teaching Program's Educational Film Series, which is open to the public and free of charge.
