Description

Premiering October 11, 2019, Palm Springs Cultural Center presents the deliciously chilling new film series Art of Darkness: a Century of Horror and the Macabre.

Each Friday-evening double feature will present a special pairing of thematically linked films, both classic and modern, representing a broad spectrum of horrific elements and themes. From Art House to Grind House and every shading in between, there is sure to be something for film buffs and horror aficionados of every persuasion.

The Art of Darkness film series will play not only through Halloween (naturally!), but continue throughout the holiday season.

We bid you welcome, to a world of dark shadows and beautiful nightmares.

Friday, November 15

[REC]

A television reporter and cameraman follow emergency workers into a dark Barcelona apartment building and are quickly locked inside with the residents and something deadly and terrifying. [REC] is a brief, gory, merciless and frightening roller-coater ride. (Spanish, with English subtitles)

TRAIN TO BUSAN

A mysterious viral outbreak pushes Korea into a state of emergency; as an unidentified virus sweeps the country, the Korean government declares martial law. Those trapped on an express train to Busan, a city that has successfully fended off the viral outbreak, must fight for their survival on the 453km journey from Seoul. It’s Snowpiercer meets World War Z— a horror thriller as relentlessly propulsive as the train itself. (Korean, with English subtitles)
