About this Event

Understanding the legal issues of being a visual artist is essential when you make a living from your creative pursuits.

In this seminar, Mary Neil Price, attorney, Thompson Burton PLLC, reviews the five Cs of art law: copyright, consignment, cooperatives, communication & contracts. Discover the intellectual property rights of artists and learn what is (and isn’t) protected by copyright. Learn the legal considerations of consignment agreements and cooperatives and learn to avoid common pitfalls when negotiating a contract. Whether you are just starting out in your artistic career, or you are a seasoned pro, this workshop will provide insight into the law and how it affects you and your art.

This course is approved by the Tennessee Commission on Continuing Legal Education for a maximum of one (1) hour of general credit.
