About this Event

Where do Art and Buddhist practice connect?

Imagination is a faculty that can be developed and refined. The Western idea of the Illumined Imagination can be seen and understood within Buddhist teachings of sraddha and prajna, or faith and wisdom. These are ways of knowing that go beyond concepts or even feeling in the usual sense. The creation and appreciation of art can touch an imaginal chord to awaken deep meaning beyond words.

This show will feature work by artists from the east coast Triratna sanghas including paintings, prints, photography and sculpture. Each artist reflects their practice in their art in different ways. All are invited to meet the artists at the opening reception on Sunday October 6 from 3-5pm. The show will be on display from October 6 through November 25. You may view the showing before or during any of our regularly scheduled events, or by appointment.
