About this event

For Ages 3 to 4 + Adult – ​Collaborate and explore the art of painting in this interactive learning experience! Art can tell us a lot about our world. In this class, we will read stories and create one-of-a-kind pictures using watercolor and tempera paint. Experiment with household materials like q-tips, salt, straws, tape, and foil. This class is designed to be one part reading and one part art activity with the help of an adult if needed. Art projects will be in connection to the book of the day and will vary in themes including animals and nature.

  • Saturdays (6 Class Meetings) June 12 - July 17

  • Heavy stock paper (Watercolor paper would be best, 10 pieces per student)
  • Watercolor Paints
  • Tempera Paint
  • Paint Brush
  • Crayons

  • Salt (Table salt works fine)
  • Straws (x2)
  • Tape (Masking tape works fine)
  • Tin Foil
  • Q- tips
  • Magazines/ Newspaper

About the Instructor

Jocelyn is a Los Angeles based painter. Her projects include sculpture, installation, murals, and wearables. Her work has been exhibited and published in the US and abroad. In 2016 she was the artist in residence at the Fundacion Sebastian, La Soledad Residency, in Mexico City. Jocelyn received her MFA at Otis College of Art & Design, and is 2018 Armory Fellow.
