Description

Join the Uhuru Solidarity Movement for our first Art For Reparations benefit auction for the Black Power Blueprint! A one night only art exhibition & silent auction to benefit black community programs based in St. Louis, MO. Featuring a wide variety of work from over 50 artists around the countey: Illustration, quilting, painting, mixed media, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, printmaking and more.

Following the art auction will be a 2 month exhibition at Diesel Cafe on the history of the Uhuru Movement past & present, featuring the 50+ current institutions of the Uhuru Movement, historical photographs, portraits of revolutionary leaders, a poster gallery of Uhuru Solidarity Movement events, and ways that you can get involved in USM's worldwide movement for reparations to African people.

WHAT'S THE BLACK POWER BLUEPRINT? The Black Power Blueprint is a project of the African People's Socialist Party led by Deputy Chair Ona Zené Yeshitela. It is an anti-gentrification project which is rapidly transforming the dire conditions of the black community in St. Louis into a thriving cultural hub of community programs such as: the Uhuru House venue space & African community center; Uhuru Jiko community commercial kitchen; the One Africa!
