About Leah King:
Leah King is a curator, artist, musician, and educator from the San Francisco Bay Area by way of Brooklyn, NY. Her work is deeply rooted in afro-futurist aesthetics, joyful noises, and unabashed reclamations.
King is a 2021 Artist in Residence at The CJM and co-founder of GLTTR Collective. A member of female:pressure electronic music network, King has performed in New York City, San Francisco, Rio, Cusco, Berlin, London, Vienna, Paris, Rome, Prague, and many small towns. She creates multimedia installations, futuristic soundscapes, and innovative virtual universes.
King works in arts-integration business consulting with a focus on communication and storytelling for foundations, universities, non-profits, and corporations. She creates people-centered culturally responsive initiatives that foster professional development, facilitate progressive organizational dialogue, and transform company culture to promote more equitable professional spaces. She is an Adjunct Professor in the Critical Ethnic Studies Department at California College of the Arts.
