On October 21, Go Local MetroBoston will host a Dorchester debut event at Tavolo Ristorante at 1918 Dorchester Ave. from 10:30 to 11:30 am.
This Art + Eat event celebrates the 2012 Dorchester Open Studios weekend, helping to link area merchants and community members with artists and their exhibited artwork during the annual arts celebration, organized by Go Local MetroBoston partner Dorchester Arts Collaborative (DAC). The event will showcase artwork, Go Local MetroBoston’s local loyalty and community investment program, and spotlight recent local business participants of Go Local MetroBoston - Dorchester.
Food will be catered by Tavolo Ristorante. Cash bar. Tavolo will remain open post the event serving selected lunch items and a full dinner menu after 5pm.
Admittance to the event is a purchase or current ownership of a $10 Go Local MetroBoston loyalty card. Go Local MetroBoston will sell Go Local cards throughout the course of the weekend at designated studio locations with a portion of card sales benefiting the Dorchester Arts Collaborative (DAC). Go Local MetroBoston is excited to be part of Dorchester Open Studios 2012 the weekend of October 20 and 21 - the biggest Open Studios yet! With 140 visual artists, 20 sites, author readings, a dozen+ performances there will be lots to see and experience, and lots of excellent artwork to buy! Arts and culture activities actually start the evening of Wednesday, October 17th at the Forbes House Museum in Milton. An Opening Night of performances takes place Friday, October 19th at the new Black Box Theater in Codman Square.
Throughout the course of Friday Evening and Saturday from 12-5pm Go Local MetroBoston will be selling Go Local cards at the venues listed below. A percentage of card sales will be given to DAC to help them grow their program capacity.
