MUSIC WITH FRIENDS

Session Three: December, 2, 9, 16- Holiday music from around the World Themed
Location: 15 Main Street, Newport, NH
Ages: 0 – 5 children with a caregiver (between 6 and 12 children in the class)
Tuition: (for three-week session): $25.00 for caregiver & one child, $10 for each additional child in family. We recommend signing up for the full session if possible * pre-registration is highly encouraged for the Holiday music sessions. For those unable to attend the full session, note that drop-ins are welcome $10 a class for one child and caregiver + $5 for each additional child in that family.
Description: Experience making music with your children & friends in this class designed for young children and their caregivers. Music will come to life as everyone Sings, Dances, Drums & Claps for Fun, experimenting with voices, instruments & movement.

Description: In this one-day workshop students can choose to make one of four large-sized baskets: a wool gathering basket, laundry basket, double-pie, or pack basket. The baskets will be woven using reed with a hardwood base, rails, and rim. All materials are created and prepared by Ray Lagasse. Each participant will be asked to choose which basket he or she will be making upon registration. Each Student will leave the workshop with the completed basket of his or her choosing. Registration will close a week before the class starts. **Students who cancel before the class will still owe a $35 fee for materials preparation.

MAKING THE ORDINARY EXTRAORDINARY: PAINTING THE LIGHT IN WATERCOLOR
Instructor: Robert J. O’Brien, AWS NWS
Saturday/Sunday, Jan. 28-29, 9:30am-4:00pm
Tuition: $130 for two-day workshop
Description: Learn how to paint “the light”! This course will explore techniques on how to achieve spectacular light effects from ordinary images through the use of light and shadow. Subject matter will range from landscape, florals, to close focus studies of architectural and agricultural motifs. Composition and values will be explored in this workshop. All levels of painting ability are welcome. Students will work from photo reference. Some drawing experience is recommended. There will be a critique and class discussion at the end of the workshop.
FIGURE DRAWING/PAINTING DROP-IN GROUP (ADULTS)

There is a clothed, live model at the Arts Center each Friday afternoon for artists to paint and draw. Artists, both professional and amateur of all styles are welcome take part in these sessions. This is an opportunity for artists to work with a live model in a welcoming community of artists.
ADULT OPEN STUDIO ART GROUP (ADULTS)

ONGOING, WEDNESDAYS, 9am-12noon
Be inspired by working in a studio environment alongside other area artists in this drop-in group that meets on a weekly basis. This welcoming group paints outdoors through the summer, locations and details listed online.
FIBER ARTS DROP-IN GROUP (ADULTS)

ONGOING, Wednesdays, 10:00am-12noon Location: 15 Main Street $4 a session
This is a great opportunity to work on your creative projects in a fun community group setting. Bring your sewing, embroidery, felting, knitting, spinning, quilting, or whatever it may be for fiber based arts and crafts. Enjoy a welcoming atmosphere, cup of coffee or tea, and the inspiring community of makers.
**PLEASE NOTE: If the class of your choice is full or canceled due to lack of enrollment, you will be notified and entitled to a full refund. Class tuition is due in full on or before the first day of the class session. Make-up classes will only be offered when the instructor is unable to teach his/her class.
