Description

What rights does an artist retain once artwork is displayed publicly or sold? Join TALA as we discuss the moral rights granted in the Visual Artists Rights Act. Plus we'll talk about common scenarios and answer questions regarding copyright ownership, the right of publicity, and licenses for commercial use. The attorneys will take individual questions at the end of the presentation.

Meet the attorneys:

Adrian Resendez - Brough and Resendez PLLC

Adrian grew up in Houston, Texas and moved to Villahermosa, Mexico and Maracaibo, Venezuela where he learned to speak, read, and write Spanish. He attended the University of Texas at Austin before attending Texas A&M School of Law focusing on intellectual property, international business, and immigration.

Alyce Zawacki Law is a boutique law firm based in Austin, Texas that is specifically for creatives. Alyce represents emerging artists and creative entrepreneurs, including musicians, filmmakers, start-ups, writers, graphic designers and photographers in the areas of entertainment law, intellectual property law and small business law. Alyce focuses on risk management and alternative dispute resolution practices such as negotiation and mediation.
