Join us as guest lecturer, author and Expressive Arts Therapist Carmen Richardson shares about the benefits of art expression. Carmen is a clinical social worker from Alberta, Canada who specializes in expressive art therapy and art expression. During this afternoon Carmen will talk about the value of expressive arts and how it helps us manage stress and promotes growth and reflection in our lives. She will share how creating art helps restore a sense of wellbeing and stabilizes us to move into states of contentment and security. Carmen will share examples of the therapeutic art process illustrating how creating art empowers resilience in our lives. She will share stories about how art expression supports those with trauma and loss helping them to find meaning and ways to thrive.

This program is presented in partnership with Jessica’s House, Stanislaus County of Education, Stanislaus Family Justice Center, Art Restores Kids, Covenant Care at Home, and Monkey Business.
