"All Roads Lead to London: The Supreme 19th Century World City"
Thursday, January 26, 2015, 7pm at the Loring Greenough House.
We’ll be regaled with broad sweep of London, the center of the British Empire, the first city in the world to reach one million inhabitants and the most important city on the planet in the 19th century. Like Imperial Rome, upon which the British modeled themselves, all loads led to London. An astonishing city of contrasts, 19th century London encompassed it all and gave birth to all things extraordinary, outrageous, inventive and creative. In so many ways, London gave birth to the modern world!
Then, enjoy desserts and wine in the elegant Dining Room.
Tickets are $25 and all proceeds go to the preservation of our JP gem, the Loring-Greenough House.
