Art and Wine mixed with some music and fun can save the lives of homeless animals who have no where else to go if we don't help them. We have saved over 1300 lives through rescue and impacted well over 1000 others in the community by providing food, veterinary care, litter and transportation. At times, our donors have even provided food and necessities for individuals and families with animals in need...and still do even beyond the borders of NC. We spend $10,000 to $20,000 per month in veterinary bills. All staff and facility overhead are paid privately by a supporter. All money raised by this event will be used only for veterinary care. We receive no governmental funds and operate only on donations and fundraisers. We are very often the LAST and ONLY HOPE for so many who are out of time and out of options. When all other shelters are full or don't accept animals, we make every effort to save them. Veterinary expenses for perfectly healthy cats averages $315, but at times can run over $10,000 for cats and kittens with serious illness or injuries. We would like to thank Emerge Gallery who is donating the space and staff for this event at no cost!
This event will feature art from local artist David Edwards, whose colorful textured paintings, have been sold in the US (especially New Orleans), England, Russia, Germany, Malaysia, China, France, the Bahamas and Canada. He has supported animal rescue causes for many years, donating 100% of the sales price for each work of art. HIs time and painting saves lives! Other local artists will be featured as well. There will be many other great items for auction! We are featuring a raffle for a David Yurman Silver and Diamond Pendant Necklace from the Yurman Cable Collection purchased by a donor from Bailey's Fine Jewelry. The drawing will be conducted by a third party computer during the event.
