Tabitha Soren's highly narrative photographs speak to the twists of fate in life that can unhinge us, and address what havoc human beings can survive – and what they can't. Her work has been featured in the New York Times Magazine, on the cover of McSweeney's, in Vanity Fair, New York Magazine, and in museums and galleries around the country.
For much of the 1990s, Tabitha Soren was in front of the camera, rather than behind it. She was one of MTV's first political reporters, covering the 1992 and 1996 presidential elections, and became the voice of a generation. Now she concentrates on one frame at a time.
Come and hear about the creative process, the intersection of art and story, inspiration, and the move from cultural icon to artist. Tabitha will be in conversation with Derek Fagerstrom, managing editor of Zoetrope: All-Story and co-creative director of Pop-Up Magazine.
