ARRI Certified Training for Lighting Fundamentals with Mo Flam

At this 3-day advanced lighting workshop cinematographers, gaffers and filmmakers will have the opportunity to explore dramatic lighting techniques used in fiction films.

This class is led by Mo Flam, a Chief Lighting Technician, with 40 years of experience in the industry. Through lectures, screenings and discussions you will explore the importance of light in visual storytelling and the techniques and processes to execute complex lighting setups.

Details


Working collaboratively as a film crew, you take on the creative and technical challenges of feature film cinematography. The class will learn how to scout a location and plan lighting requirements for a scene. You will begin to tackle challenging lighting situations with goals to achieve specific visual aesthetics through hands-on sessions.

You will light scenes with LED, HMI, tungsten, fluorescent units and learn to use grip equipment to shape and control light through practical exercises. You will light a variety of interior and exterior residential and commercial spaces, as well as car interiors, for day and night scenes, and dramatic scenarios with actors, using the most recent and advanced technology in film lighting.

Q: Is my registration/my ticket transferable?

A: Yes, you can transfer your ticket either to another event in the same country or to a friend. There will be an event transfer charge.


Q: What else is included in the ticket price?

A: Your ticket includes lunch, snacks, drinks, a folder with printed participant documents, and a very nice giveaway bag.


Q: Is there a BVK, BVFK, IMAGO and student discount available?

Q: Where can I stay during the training?

A: We`ve reserved hotel room contingents for you (Please book until November 09.2018/12.2018!):

  • Alecsa Hotel at Olympiastadion Berlin: Rooms (53 Euro for a single room incl. breakfast) can be booked until November, 12 by referencing "ARRI Academy". The hotel is about 10 walking minutes from the training location. Please contact the hotel at info@alecsa-hotel.de for your room bookings.

  • Leonardo Hotel Berlin: Rooms (109 Euro for a single room incl. breakfast) can be booked until November, 09 by referencing "ARRI Academy". Q: What are the conditions for refunds?

A: The participant shall have a right to withdraw from the contract up to 5 calendar days before the start of the event.

  • No cancellation charges up to 14 calendar days or more before the start of the event.
  • Cancellation charges amounting to 25% of the event fees up to 6 calendar days or more, but lesser than 14, before the start of the event.
  • The full participation fee is due 5 calendar days before the start of the event.
