ARRI Academy Camera Motion Class | artemis and TRINITY


This three-day training course is designed to give participants an in-depth overview and hands-on experience in a professional shooting environment with the ARRI Camera Stabilizer Systems (CSS); artemis, and TRINITY. Experienced professionals will detail the many possibilities the ARRI Camera Stabilizer Systems have to offer, with expert advice, real production scenarios and hands-on training. Participants will be asked to choose a primary training area (TRINITY | artemis) for the second day of hands on class demonstration and work. By the end of the third day of this course you will be able to set-up, operate and maintain the ARRI artemis and Trinity systems shots in multiple environments.


Who should attend



  • Camera operators, Cinematographers, Videographers, camera assistants, dolly grips, film students and film technicians with an interest in learning to use the ARRI CSS products
  • Participants should have a good basic fitness level however people of all physical statures and experience levels are able and welcome
  • Gimbal operators and/or Steadicam(TM) operators of any experience level
  • Camera operators and gimbal operators of any experience level


What you will learn



General

  • Understanding the features and working language of the ARRI CSS
  • Learn the physics and basics of camera stabilization systems
  • Preparing the ARRI camera system and accessories
  • Rehearse, shoot and record test shots to apply your new skills

artemis

  • How to setup and adjust the Artemis vest and arm and sled
  • Drills and exercises for basic Artemis techniques
  • Explore advanced soft mount and hard mount configurations.

TRINITY

  • Explore advanced configurations and applications
  • Learn to use the remote control joystick and wheel kit to control camera movement remotely
  • New creative camera movement options with Trinity
  • Get to know the software and GUI applications for advanced configurations

Alan Lennox

Alan Lennox has worked in film and television production for over 30 years in many capacities including; editor, gaffer, technical producer, camera operator, Steadicam operator, Flycam/Skycam operator, stereographer, and DOP. Alan has worked across all genres from live event broadcast, sports, documentary, 3D, commercial and narrative production. Alan is currently an active member of the Society of Camera Operators, IATSE 667Toronto, IATSE 669 Vancouver, and other industry associations. Alan was one of the first operators to adopt the ARRI Trinity system in 2016. Alan joined ARRI in October of 2017 as the Camera Stabilization Systems Specialist for the Americas. Currently, Alan leads ARRI’s CSS workshops for the ARRI Academy for Maxima, Artemis, Trinity and Stabilized Remote Heads.

Q: Is my registration/my ticket transferable?

A: Yes, you can transfer your ticket either to another event in the same country or to a friend. There will be an event tranfer charge.

Q: What else is included in the ticket price?

A: Your ticket includes lunch, snacks, drinks, a folder with printed participant documents, and very nice giveaway swag.

Q: Does ARRI Academy offer discounts to members of industry organizations such as ASC, SOC, DCS, etc and student discounts?

A: Yes, please send a copy of your membership card or student card to academy@arri.com to receive your discount code.

Q: Where can I stay during the training?

Q: Is there parking available?

We do not have any parking accommodations near Greenpoint. We recommend using the subway or a car service. From Manhattan's Grand central station you can catch the 7 train to the G Train to Greenpoint Ave. In Greenpoint, Brooklyn. The train stop is only two blocks away from our facility 236 Greenpoint Ave.

If you get lucky you may be able to find some street parking but it's challenging.

Q: What are the conditions for refunds?

A: The participant shall have a right to withdraw from the contract up to 5 calendar days before the start of the event.

  • No cancellation charges up to 14 calendar days or more before the start of the event.
  • Cancellation charges amounting to 25% of the event fees up to 6 calendar days or more, but lesser than 14, before the start of the event.
  • The full participation fee is due 5 calendar days before the start of the event.
