Description
The Major Samuel Woodfill Chapter, AUSA, cordially invites you to join us as we honor the top Army ROTC cadets, as selected by their Professors of Military Science, from each of the five universities in our area: Central State University, University of Cincinnati, University of Dayton, Wright State University and Xavier University. They are our next generation of Army leaders.
The awards dinner is an exciting evening where these outstanding cadets are introduced by their Professors of Military Science. The cadets represent hundreds of outstanding young men and women from their universities. All selected an Army career in this time of war. You will feel a sense of pride in these cadets who volunteered to be an important part of the defense of this great country.
Dinner is a choice of the Inn’s signature meals: Roast Turkey Breast, Golden Lamb Fried Chicken, Fresh Scottish Salmon or Mushroom, Tofu and Vegetable Cobbler with all the trimmings. Orders will be taken tableside. There is a cash bar. Festivities begin with a social hour at 6:00 p.m. and mess call at 7:00 p.m. The dinner is held on the Inn’s first floor for easy access.
This year’s event will be held at the historic Golden Lamb Inn. Established in 1803, it is the oldest continuously operating Ohio business. It became a stagecoach stop between Cincinnati and Route 40, the National Road. The Inn has hosted numerous famous guests, including presidents such as Harrison, J.Q. Adams, Van Buren, Grant, Hayes, Garfield, McKinley, Harding, Taft, Reagan and G.W. Bush. Others famous guests include Harriet Beecher Stowe, Samuel Clemens, James Whitcomb Riley and Charles Dickens. If you wish to spend the night in one of the Inn’s unique guest rooms, contact De-De Bailey, Event Coordinator, 513-932-5065. Mention the AUSA ROTC dinner for a special discount.
