OSU Sesquicentennial in Photos

This year The Ohio State University is celebrating 150 years of its history, landmarks, and traditions. Join University Archivist Tamar Chute as she discusses the university’s past through the lens of historical photographs of campus, its buildings, and its people. Learn more about the university’s founding and the ways in which today’s university reflects the hopes and dreams of its earliest years.

As Head of Archives, Mrs. Chute manages the University Archives, Byrd Polar Research Center Archival Program, and the Ohio Congressional Archives. For the University Archives, her responsibilities include outreach activities, collection development, and donor relations. Mrs. Chute has given presentations on all aspects of university history, including the University’s founding, student traditions and activities, buildings on campus, and OSU then-and-now. She is the author of Time & Change: 150 Years of The Ohio State University, a photographic history of the university celebrating Ohio State’s sesquicentennial, and co-author of The Ohio State University Trivia Book, published in 2007. During spring semester Mrs. Chute teaches the course “The Ohio State University: Its History and Its World.” Mrs. Chute’s professional research has focused primarily on teaching with primary sources, college and university outreach, and how federal privacy laws affect archival users.

4 Paws For Ability

Our charity focus for this year is 4 Paws For Ability, which enriches the lives of children with disabilities by training and placing quality, task-trained service dogs. This provides increased independence for the children, and assistance to their families. And 4 Paws also works with veterans from recent conflicts who’ve lost the use of their limbs or their hearing while in active combat. In all cases, the results speak for themselves. Please come to learn about this organization, find out how ARMA Greater Columbus will be contributing to this organization, and see some friendly dogs! For more information about the organization, please visit 4pawsforability.org.

Please come and join us for networking, appetizers, 4 Paws for Ability, and Mrs. Chute’s presentation.
