Description

**This event is sliding scale Pay What You Can: $10-$50**

As a woman, do you struggle with being heard?

Are you interrupted at work?

Do you apologize for other people’s bad behavior?

It’s a thrilling time. Women are standing up and speaking out for themselves and each other. We’re making our voices heard across platforms and industries. The results are powerful and far-reaching: Men are starting to rethink their roles, attitudes, and behaviors towards women at work and beyond.

Speaking up is a muscle. Keeping our voices strong day-to-day requires ongoing practice and a safe space in which to do it. On June 4th, we will help you empower your unique voice, assert your space, and stop apologizing for what you deserve in this new boundary-pushing communication workshop.

Forget about a seat at the table. Own the tableand any room you walk intowith tools to help you speak with confidence and authority. We’ll use techniques and tools inspired by and adapted from theater, mindfulness and improv comedy.

Together we will practice:

  • Leveraging your vocal strengths to stand up for yourself

  • How to physically reclaim your space

  • How to respond instead of react in uncomfortable situations

  • Navigating difficult conversations with compassion and authenticity

  • Receiving and giving in-the-moment feedback

Lead By: Lisa Pertoso of Follow the Fear (www.followthefear.co) and Leah Bonvissuto + Jackie Miller of Bespoken (www.bespokenpartners.com)

Please pay what you can for your ticket. All proceeds will go to the New Women Space to support their programs that are 100% community-led by self-identified women, femme, queer, transgender and gender nonconforming individuals.

Please bring water, a snack if needed and wear comfortable clothes and shoes. There is no need to prepare anything for the workshop but if you like, come with a real-life experience or challenge to workshop.
